[1948] The European fashion designer, Sonja de Lennart, created [in the frame of] her
"Capri Collection" the tight, three-quarter length pants with a short slit on the outer-side
of the pant. The pants were soon copied by other fashion designers.  In 1952, Edith
Head had the Capri pants stitched along with other items from de Lennart's Capri
Collection - namely, the wide-swinging skirt, the high-neck blouse, and the belt - by
the Italian sisters fontana for Audrey Hepburn in "Roman Holiday".  Also, in 1953, Hubert
de Givenchy tailored Sonja de Lennart's Capri Pants for Audrey Hepburn, which she
wore in "Sabrina" (1954).
